My name is Emily and I am the blogger, recipe developer, photographer and fitness instructor behind Stay Healthy, Stay Happy.

SHSH is a landing pad for all of the things I love to do – cook, sweat and motivate. My goal is to get everyone moving, eating nourishing food and smiling from ear to ear. Two of the biggest misconceptions is that “healthy” is hard and “healthy” is expensive. Recipes are easy-to-follow and clean; workouts are simple and fun; and blog posts are honest and real.

It is my belief that when we are healthy, we are happy.

You can find me teaching fitness classes (dance, yoga, boxing) and doing food demos around Boston – and virtually. I am also available for private yoga, fitness and cooking sessions (inquiries here).

Stay Healthy, Stay Happy started as a journalism project at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. When I started teaching fitness classes at UMass, I realized that I had a powerful platform to spread my love for living a healthy lifestyle – specifically, fueling the body with real, clean food and exercising to feel good and radiate confidence.

In college, like most, I struggled with my weight, I struggled with sleep and I struggled to stay energized throughout the day. After a while, I noticed a pattern: When I ate clean and exercised regularly, none of those things were an issue. I felt good. I was happy.

When I graduated, I moved to Boston and continued to teach fitness classes and share recipes. Now, I’ve adding cooking demos and at-home meal prep sessions to my repertoire.  The focus of each meal is to utilize clean, real, fresh and local (when possible) foods.

Thanks for visiting SHSH !  I hope to connect with you all virtually or in-person.
